Teaching and Private Lessons:
- Mira Costa High School - Manhattan Beach, CA (2004 - 2006)
My responsibilities were to create a coherent, musical, dynamic and percussive unit with 16 percussion students. I was fortunate enough to introduce and teach a Percussion Pedagogy class to all of the students who needed help in reading and understanding rhythms. I also introduced and conducted the Percussion Ensemble to Mira Costa High School. I was also the Marching Band Drum Line Instructor and was fortunate enough to work with Ms. Amy Johnson - Director of Bands at the Manhattan Beach School District.
- Rock The Classroom - Los Angeles, CA (2003 - 2005)
This was a music literacy program under the guidance and direction of LAUSD. We were incorporating reading and history with a combination of music and words. This process helped the students prepare themselves and help motivate the learning process. Because of the success of the program, we discovered that the students were improving their grade levels, interest and reading capabilities. The result of this program is that the students gained knowledge on how language and music can forge together to make learning and retention a positive experience.
- Art & Soul Foundation - (2002 - 2004)
Drum Instructor. This is a non-profit organization that supports and brings music & arts into the Los Angeles County Foster Child Program. 5th County Supervisor Michael Antonoivch was instrumental in bringing this successful program to the forefront. In addition, I was able to secure musical instruments from major instrument manufacturers and personal donations to help assist these kids. The Director of the program is Ms. Hollye Dexter.
- Coast Music Conservatory - (Hermosa Beach, CA)
I am presently the Drum Staff Instructor for this South Bay prestigious music school.
- Los Angeles Charter School - (Los Angeles, CA)
Percussion Ensemble Instructor and inspirational motivator under the direction of Rebecca “Dru” Wilson.
- Private Instruction - (Redondo Beach, CA)
I currently have 20 students ranging in ages from 6 – 55 years old. Each student has a goal and direction, which I try to help motivate, direct, stimulate, and inspire. I have a soundproof studio, which gives the students the opportunity to learn in a comfortable and conducive learning atmosphere.
